Marshfield, Mass. –Terrell Watts (New Haven, Conn.) threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in his first collegiate contest and the freshman signal caller was named Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) rookie of the week it was announced on Monday by the league office.
Watts was stellar in the Bulldogs' hard-fought 44-41 loss at Curry College on Friday night, completing 19 of 31 passes and throwing three of his four touchdowns in the fourth quarter as Dean mounted a furious comeback.
His first scoring strike came late in the third quarter when he connected with Julian Burris (Marietta, Ga.) on a 76-yard catch and run.
Then in the fourth quarter, he and Burris were at it again, this time from 21 yards out on a leaping catch by Burris in the right corner of the endzone.
Overall, Watts guided an offense that produced 418 yards of total offense, went 7-for-13 on third down and 2-for-3 on fourth down.
Watts and the rest of his Bulldog teammates are back in action on Saturday when they host Western Connecticut State. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
