Traijan Powell's (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) last second three pointer was tipped and fell short, as the Dean College Bulldogs dropped a non-league contest to Bridgewater State, 78-77 on Thursday evening.

Trailing by three with ten seconds to go, the Bulldogs had a final chance to tie the game.  Senior guiard Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) drew a double team and found Powell in the corner for the final three pointer, but Powell's attempt was blocked, falling to Jordan Lynch-Rexroth (Harrisburg, Pa.) who laid it in as time expired.

Dean led 42-36 at halftime, but was outscored 42-35 in the second half. With 11 minutes to go in the second half, Dean trailed 63-53, but the Bulldogs chipped away at the lead over the course of the next ten minutes.

Joel Jones (Fayetteville, N.C) dunk made it 65-57, and moments later Powell's jumpshot closed the deficit to six. After a four minute long stretch of back and forth action, Dean closed the gap even further, squeezing the Bear's advantage to two on a Booker layup and tying the game at 73 on a Jones layup.

With just under a minute to go, Dimitri St. Louis hit a crucial three pointer for Bridgwater St., giving the hosts a 76-73 lead. After two Booker free throws cut the lead to one, Rayshon Ward hit a midrange jumper at the end of the shot clock to give the Bears the lead before the final posession.

All five starters finished in double figures for the Bulldogs, with Booker leading the way with 20 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals. D'caran Anderson (Compton, Calif.) finished with 15 points while Powell scored 12.  Lynch-Rexroth and Jones both scored 12.

Dean travels to Norwich University for the Ed Hockenberry Classic.  The Bulldogs will square off with Trinity on Saturday at 8 p.m.
