THE LEAD:
Jamal Allen
made five of New England College's 15 three-pointers on his way to 21 points and the host Pilgrims raced past Dean College, 113-94, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's basketball action on Wednesday evening.

NEC shot a sizzling 54 percent from the field, topping the 100-point plateau for the fifth time this season and the second game in a row.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Pilgrims shared the ball extremely well, handing out 32 assists on their 43 made baskets and they got contributions from almost everyone on their roster, highlighted by their 49 bench points.

Ahead 52-44 at the half, the Pilgrims' offense ticked up a notch in the second half as they erupted for 61 points in the final 20 minutes, when Allen and Izaiah Winston-Brooks combined for 28 points on 10-for-19 shooting.

Dean actually was within striking distance at 52-48 early in the second half after Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) hit a pair of free throws, but the Pilgrims' bench emerged, specifically Kareem Octavien and Larry McKinney and with a little less than ten minutes remaining, NEC was in control at 81-62.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Jordan Lynch-Rexroth
(Harrisburg, Pa.) led all scorers with 28 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and four steals for Dean.

Booker chipped in with 21 points of his own, while D'Caran Anderson (Compton, Mass.) had 18 and Tyrone Smith-McCray (Brockton, Mass.) had his second straight strong outing, totaling 14 points, four rebounds and five assists.

Winston-Brooks racked up 24 points in just 19 minutes, while Octavien led the Pilgrim reserves with 21 points and Calvin Cheek finished with four points, ten assists, six rebounds and three steals.

Dean is back in action on Saturday when they visit Becker for a 1:00 PM tipoff.
