THE LEAD:
Eastern Nazarene opened the second half on a 15-2 run and the visiting Lions won their third straight game by posting a 73-64 win over Dean College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's basketball action on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Bulldogs fell behind early in the contest but managed to close the gap as the opening half ended with Jordan Booker (Waterbury, Conn.) scoring five points sandwiched around a Josh Rice three-pointer, making the halftime score 33-32.

ENC came out of the locker room on fire, as Rice connected on a pair of three-pointers, David Lopez had a conventional three-point play and Garrett Crandall scored four points of his own to turn their two-point lead into a 48-34 advantage.

During that six minute stretch, the Bulldogs went 1-for-6 from the field and committed four turnovers.

Dean did claw their way back into the game, trimming their deficit as Traijan Powell (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) scored 13 of his 15 points in the final 20 minutes.

After Kevin Clark (Miami Gardens, Fla.) made a short jumper, making the game 70-64 with less than a minute left, the Lions put the game away with three free throws in the final 30 seconds to secure the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Rice, a sharpshooter from behind the arc, led all scorers with 17 points, while Noah Cheney came off the bench to finish with 14 points for Eastern Nazarene.

Dean was paced by Booker's 16 points, five rebounds and five assists and Powell's 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting.

Jordan Lynch-Rexroth (Harrisburg, Pa.) had another double-double, totaling 11 points, ten rebounds and four assists.

Dean is back in action on Saturday when they play host to Mitchell College at 1:00 PM.
