Dean College used excellent passing and timely shooting to advance to the championship game of the 2019 Dean Bulldog Basketball Tip-Off Classic with a 75-66 win over Clark University in women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

The win for the Bulldogs is their first of the season and sets up a matchup with Connecticut College tomorrow at 2:30 PM in the tournament's title game. For the Cougars, meanwhile, they will play at 12:00 PM in the consolation game against Regis College.

The game was back and forth early on it was only a one-point game in the waning seconds of the first quarter when Stephanie Conrad (Bedford, N.H.) banked in a buzzer-beating three-pointer as time expired.

Dean continued to extend its advantage in the second frame and went into halftime in front, 36-28.

Clark was able to cut into their deficit as Hannah Favaloro (Blackstone, Mass.) nearly had a double-double in the third quarter alone, finishing with nine points and ten rebounds in the period – including a hard-working buzzer-beating layup of her own.

In the end, however, Dean was able to close out the victory courtesy of a defensive effort that held the Cougars to five for 18 shooting in the final ten minutes.

Favaloro was spectacular in defeat, ending with 18 points and 24 rebounds, while Emily Sifferlen totaled 16 points and six rebounds.

Dean was paced by another monster double-double from Makayla Rudder (Springfield, Mass.), who racked up 18 points and 19 rebounds. Arielle Harrell (Stockton, Calif.) chipped in with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Alexah Potter (East Hartford, Conn.) came off the bench and ended with 13 points and seven rebounds.
