THE LEAD: 
The Dean College Bulldogs stumbled in the second half, giving up six unanswered goals to fall to Bay Path 7-1 on Saturday at Longley Field in Franklin, Mass.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • A goal from Arianna Mederios (Tewksbury, Mass.) at the 34 minute mark, knotted the game at one going into halftime.
  • Jailinne Ruiz (Hadley, Mass.) started the scoring early in the second half for the Wildcats, scoring the second of her four goals in the 47th minute.
  • Bay Path cruised from there, scoring five more goals by the 68th minute and tacking on one more in the 83rd.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Ruiz led all scorers with four goals on seven shots (six on goal).  Rebekah Herring (Springfield, Mass.) added two goals as well for the Wildcats.
  • Dean was outshot 21-7 and ceded a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.  The Bulldogs' Emma Morrison (Northport, N.Y.) made 7 saves in the goal.

  • Dean next travels to Fitchburg State on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. non conference tilt.
